Phoenix Area Seven Sister Postpartum Planners
Alicia O'Dell Wadley
As a mother, I am drawn to mothers. I find a deep beauty and reverence with the birthing year; growth of a baby, growth of a family, the birth of both. I see a need for women to be supported through their journey, in a way that suits their needs. No mom or family is alike and therefore, no plan should be a cookie cutter.
Through the gathering of information, digging deep, planning, pitfalls of learning and making invaluable connections during my own birthing years, I have build a toolbox of love, support, resources AND reality. I look forward to the many Seven Sister journeys yet to come.
Alicia is a birth worker, esthetician, yoga instructor. Learn more about Alicia at: www.SimplySacredWellbeing.com

Danielle Haines
Danielle’s journey into birth started in her early 20’s when she was handed “Spiritual Midwifery” by Ina May Gaskin. She immediately started attending births, knowing that women have always attended women and that support is imperative through the pregnancy and birthing process. After 7 years of attending hospital births she finally had the opportunity to walk a client through the process of a home birth with a midwife! Her client chose to work with Shell Luttrell at Midwives Rising!
In the summer of 2011, Danielle attended her doula client at her beautiful home birth. She had a very distinct knowing, that came from deep within her that it was time for her to start training as a midwife. Along with that knowing she knew that Shell Luttrell was her teacher too. By the fall of 2011, Danielle indeed started her apprenticeship under Shell. Alongside her apprenticeship journey has been Rachel Flynn, of which Danielle considers her her sister midwife, and Shell, her mother midwife.
Danielle has now been attending home births under supervision for 5 years with Shell and Rachel. Now that her supervised training has come to an end, she is maintaining a partnership with Midwives Rising! It is important to her to continue to advance her skills and knowledge while carrying on the important tradition of midwifery.
In between births, prenatal and postpartum care, Danielle loves to bring community together by organizing meet-ups between other mom and their kids, family yoga classes and morning hiking groups to help encourage the Midwives Rising mamas to get out of the house, make connections and get exercise! You will often see her biking over to the park, with her vibrant 2 year old son, Ocean, in tow, or carrying him on her back for the hike!
Danielle is also a certified BodyTalk Practitioner. BodyTalk is a technique which identifies broken lines of communication between the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual body, and then helps the body repair those breaks. Through this process the body can repair, reorganize and heal, working toward an optimal state of mental, emotional, spiritual and physical well-being.
