Curriculum
Module 1: The Postpartum Window
What you value, you will prioritize. The more we value mothers, the more we will prioritize them getting postpartum care. Why it is so important to mother our mothers and, what are the familial, cultural, and societal implications of this.
Postpartum practices in other cultures.
Module 2: The Heart of it All
Support Systems are Equally as Important as Belief Systems. A mother will be willing to receive what she feels is ‘necessary’, and on a deeper level, what she is worthy of.
Module 3: Postpartum Planning
A postpartum plan is EQUALLY as important as a birth plan-some would venture to say-if not more.
Once a family knows their protocol, it is much easier to guide a team to support them with grace and ease.
Module 5: Teaching to groups
(This module focuses on those who want to teach groups of mothers)
Module 6: Community Awareness
Module 7: Showing Up & Paying Attention
This is about doing your own personal work so you can show up well for mothers and families you serve.
These acts of service are the threads that bind communities. Mothers and families helping each other, sharing time, wisdom, care, stories, and presence. It is my hope that this system helps us to remember how to support each other in times of need with compassionate presence.
